Okay, i'll try to explain, but it's quite hard without visual representation.
I've started just with main colors – as usual for backgrounds. Next – i've used couple of custom brushes in Adobe Photoshop CS5 for rocks. For snow I've tried lots of brushes, but finished with almost same brush, but slightly changed shape to be more flat.
Characters were the last ones – two basic round brushes. One with pressure sensetive, one without.
this scene takes place in the giants grove when the orismer chief is killed by the giant and you have to claim the hammer yourself by defeating the giant and returning to the hold and becoming the champion of malacath. during malacath's daedric quest to get volundrung.
Excuse me for a spell, while I vent some pent up fanboyism:
"The howling wind clawed at his cheek, his right hand clenching the blood-soaked blade, his left hefting a mighty battle axe, both quivering in the icy chill of the mountains. 'It seems', the old warrior thought , 'that even in theses forsaken places, people still cling to life any way they can. I grieve that it needed come this far, my friend. Stendarr guide you on your path, or whatever deity you may cast your prayers to.' Cleaning his weapons in the snow, the Dovahkiin began making his way down the pale white mountainside. Snow danced around his fallen attacker, burying him deeper and deeper until soon not a trace of his existance remained."
Really? huh... I spend more time destroying dragons than people. Those stupid creatures keep attacking Whiterun so as a consequence I have dragon corpses scattered all over the city. LMAO. Wish snow would bury them.
